Today in class we mainly talked about the menstrual cycle. Here are some of the notes I took:

Hypothalamus Gland- regulates the secretion of the pituarty gland

Then the Pituitary Gland relapses FSH and LH.

The FSH and LH then stimulate the ovary to produce Estrogen and Progesterone.

WHEN ESTROGEN LEVELS ARE LOW THE HYPOTHALMUS SIMULATES THE PITUITA

RY Gland AGAIN, THIS IS THE PROCESS OF FEEDBACK!

Back tracking a bit: When the egg gets released, the corpus lutem is left over. The corpus lutem is the remains of the follicle. The CL secrets the hormones estrogen and mostly progesterone.

Why do we care about the uterine lining?

The egg, if fertilized will attach to the lining.

Contraception:

-Preventing the union of egg and sperm.

Barrier Method:

Chemical Methods: (prevents gamete formation or kills gametes)

HI! sorry this is late, i was absent the day it was assigned! Luke: I think you are being very vauge... do you mean like Lytic infections? and then Memory B and T cells? T cells tell the B cells to remember the virus so in secondary response it will remember and react quicker. HIV attacks T cells and destroys their memory so it is harder to react to viruses and such. I don't know what you were exactly asking, but i hope this generally helps.

Hello everyone! We had a very fun time in class theother day.

Our homework was to finish 8-14 lab in UP and the chart due monday with 7.2.

Here are some important things that we learned today:

• An important phrase is STRUCTURE DETERMINES FUNCTION: an example Mrs.Stein used was "Is an ice skater built like a football player?"
• We learned the levels of organisms is as followed:

howdy! my muddiest point is about the numbers pyrimd. can someone explain what it generally is?

First Unit Reflection

I had a lot of fun in this unit. Even though I had already learned about microscopes and such, it was so nice to get a review. I hadn't realized that I had forgotten so much! The amount of labs was amazing. I think we did 2 in the first week! In middle school we would have done 2 in a whole semester! Overall, it was challenging, yes, but I am looking forward to the rest of the year.

"Toto,I've a feeling we're not in Kansas any more" Most people when hearing that line automatically think of the classic film "The Wizard of Oz". This magical movie was created in 1939 by MGM studios. The average person would assume that this film is nothing more then a 'chick flick' or just a movie. But only the people who know where to look can see the true magic behind the WIzard of Oz.

"Courage! What makes the flag on the mast to wave? Courage! What makes the elephant charge his tusk in the misty mist, or the dusky dusk?" Along the way to the Wicked Witch of the Wests home, there was originally a musical number titled "Jitterbug". There Jitterbug number was part of a subplot that got discarded early on in the writing process. The subplot would involve interesting charaters such as large subplot involving Princess Betty and the Grand Duke of Oz.

"Follow the yellow brick road!" When filming the transition scene between the black and white to the techni-color they used a special technique. The film could not switch from black and white to techni-color while filming the actors. They hired a stand in actor for dorothy who was wearing what the iconic blue dress would look like in black and white film. MGM painted the walls of her house to look identical to what they would look like on black and white film also. They filmed in technicolor, so that the first shot of Oz was colorful, but the house was in black and white. All of that preparation for a 6 second shot! What I am most excited about: I am excited to be in a new school! I can't wait to make new friends, join lots of clubs, and just enjoy myself.What I am least excited about: homework! I think some is okay, but i really do not like it when it takes hours!
