I am confused on the cell mediation cycle. What is the process and what does the helper t cell and the killer t cell do. Also, if you could explain to me what the difference between a b cell and a t cell is.
Helper T cells: they divide into more helper T cells and activate B cells and cytotoxic cells and produce memory T cells. Memory T cells let the immune system respond faster if the same pathogen enters the body.
Killer T cells (Cytotoxic T cells): they hunt down cells that are infected with an antigen and kills the cell.
B cells: they make antibodies against antigens.
T cells: they destroy infected body cells and protect the body from its own cells if the cells are cancerous.
(the chart on unit packet page 28 should help too!)
