Hi guys I'm still confused on the differences between reptiles and amphibians. I just can't identify the differences. If someone could help that would be great.
One of the main differences between reptiles and amphibians are that reptiles have scales and their toes are claws, while amphibians have moist skin and their toes lack claws.
Amphibians live in water as larvae and on land as adults whereas reptiles live on both land and water. Amphibians have a 3-chambered heart and reptiles have a heart with 2 atria and one or two ventricles. For amphibians, most adults have lungs but some use gills and larvae breathe through their skin and gills. But reptiles have spongey lungs that provide a large surface area for gas exchange and their lungs are operated by muscles and moveable ribs.Amphibians fertilize externally which means that the female produces thousands of eggs. The reptiles reproduce internally so they only produce a small amount of eggs. I hope this helps! -ChristinaP
