Muddiest Point

Hey guys. I'm a little confused on the differences between a dicot and a monocot. If you could help me with that that'd be great! Thanks!

  1. The difference between monocots and dicots are

    Seeds: M-single cotyledon, D- 2 cotyledons
Leaves: M- parallel veins, D- branched veins
Flowers: M- floral parts in mulitples of 3, D: floral parts in multiples of 4/5
Stems: M- vascular bundles scattered throghout stem, D- vascular bundles in ring
Roots: M- fiborous roots, D- taproot

this is also on page 653 of the book. Hope this helps!

  2. hey! so one trick that helps me remember how many flowers each has is really helpful!

    Monocot: 3 O's --- mOnOcOt has 3 O's

and then i just remember that diocot is just 4/5!

    hope that helps a little!!
