Muddiest Point

Hey guys so my Muddiest Point for this unit is Pedigrees. I don't understand how if you have two parents who aren't carriers or diseased how they can have a child who is diseased or carriers. An example of this is on page 48 of UP.

  1. So if the disease is autosomal recessive, then the family can pass the reccesive gene through the family. For instance, if disease "R", which is autosomal recessive. If the parents genotypes were to be Rr x Rr, then there is a 25% chance of them having a child with disease "R" and a 75% of them not.
