Interphase?

How is interphase a part of mitosis if the cell is not in the process of dividing? Or is it in mitosis at all?

    Interphase is NOT part of mitosis. Interphase is the part of the CELL CYCLE when the cell prepares for mitosis. Therefor the term INTERphase. (Inter meaning between mitosis.)
