Muddiest Point!

Hey guys! The part that confuses me the most is the difference between the Rough ER and the Smooth ER. I know that ribosomes are in the Rough ER. But, why isn't there any ribosomes in the Smooth ER?
Thanks!

  1. Hi! Rough ER- Has the ribosmomes on the top, so you can see them. it looks rough, thats why it is "rough ER"
    Smooth- has no ribosomes.
    Thanks have fun!

  2. smooth ER tends to be involved more in lipid synthesis... kinda a detail that isn't super important. Whereas rough ER is more involved in transporting proteins.
