Muddiest Point

Hey Guys!
I don't understand the difference between chromosomes and chromatin. Can someone explain it to me?

  1. what helps me remember the difference between the two is that the chromatin look like an unwound ball of yarn and that the chromosomes look like butterflyes in a way. i hope that helps!!

  2. Choromosomes are just individual UNITS of continuous DNA

Chromatin is the FORM that the chromosomes exist in when they are in INTERPHASE. Chromatin is basically UNWOUND chromosomes.
