Muddiest Point

I'm having trouble understanding what relative and absolute dating is. Also what is a genetic drift?
-Thanks!

  1. Hey! So, a genetic drift is a change in the gene pool of a small population, due to chance. Two examples of genetic drift are the bottleneck effect and the founder effect. The bottleneck effect is when a disaster occurs and kills many individuals in a population. This can sharply reduce the genetic diversity in that population. The founder effect is when a small group of individuals colonize a new habitat. This causes allele frequencies to change. Hope this helped!
