Hey guys, I am having trouble telling the difference between amphibians and reptiles and platyhelminthes and nematoda. If someone could help me that would be great!

  1. Hey Sydney!
I'm having trouble telling the difference between Platyhelminthes and Nematodas too but I can help you with amphibians and reptiles. First of all, a major difference is that Amphibians have moist skin and mucous glads, but reptiles have dry and scaly skin. Also amphibians lack scales and claws unlike reptiles who have them. In addition, Amphibians fertilize externally unlike Reptiles who fertilize internally, therefore amphibians produce more eggs at a time. Those are the major differences that help me determine which ones which.
    Hope it helps!!

  2. Hi Sydney!
So, platyhelminthes are flatworms and nematodas are round. Nematodas are basically the ones that we see in dirt all the time. They are unsegmented worms (they don't have the lines on them) , some are free living, they may be parasites, and they have a tough outer cuticle. Examples of nematodas are hookworms, pinworms, trichinella, etc. Platyhelminthes are really simple animals (the simplest to have embryonic germ layers, too) and they are also soft with tissues. Examples of this type of worm are tapeworms, turbellarians, and flukes.
