Muddiest Point

Hey guys! My muddiest point has to do with the food web. I don't understand which is the primary consumer, and which is the consumer! Can someone help explain?

  1. Well, primary means "first", so a primary consumer would be the first ever consumer in a food chain that eats the autotroph (or producer)... a primary consumer is a first order consumer, in other words, because it's first in the order of consumers in the food chain. Then, the ones that come after that would be the second-order consumer, third- order consumer, etc.

    Hope this helped!!!!
